Parent Showcase moved to Thursday night

Parents,

Due to a couple of factors, the band has decided to move the Parent Showcase to Thursday night at 9:00 pm. In addition, band camp has been canceled for Friday, thus allowing the students to have an extra day off to enjoy their weekend.

The band is in a good position this year with starting drill training much earlier than previous years. Meaning, the band is ahead of schedule with regards to learning the halftime show performance. The VHHS athletic department has scheduled an event in the stadium during the Friday evening block of band camp. We have known about this for some time. Instead of keeping students any longer than necessary, we have decided that it is in the best interest of the students to allow them to rest after two weeks of a demanding band camp before school starts next week. Thus, no band camp on Friday.
